Treasures of Pointe Coupee

Treasures of Pointe Coupee

Organizers of the 2012 Treasures of Pointe Coupee exhibit are beginning their recruitment of artists to participate in this year's event. Following two tremendously successful community art exhibits in June  2010 and 2011 that drew hundreds to the Julien Poydras Museum and Arts Center to appreciate nearly 150 pieces of art by almost 100 local artists, the steering committee anticipates another outstanding exhibit.

The event is slated this year for June 1 through June. It will include two and three dimensional artwork. The Treasures of Pointe Coupee will include an exhibit from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Friday, June 1, with a reception for artists and the public. The exhibit will continue on Saturday, June 2, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 3.

A silent auction will be held on Friday evening featuring artworks donated by participating artists, with proceeds going to support future Treasures of Pointe Coupee events.
